North Central Bank offers our debit card holders the ability to pay with their mobile device nearly anywhere! Mobile Wallet offers yet another way for you to pay at the store! Instead of using your physical plastic card to make a purchase, you can pay with your smartphone, tablet or smartwatch. Using your Mobile Wallet tends to be more secure than using your physical debit card because it doesn’t store your card number. This extra layer of security helps reduce the chance that your information may be stolen.

What is Mobile Wallet?

A mobile wallet is a digital way to carry your NCB debit card information on your mobile device. Instead of using your physical card to make purchases, you can pay with your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch.

Is a Mobile Wallet Secure?

Before using a mobile wallet service, check the security measures it provides to protect your card information. With some mobile wallets, your full card number is not visible to merchants during a purchase. Additionally, some wallets allow you to disable the service if your card or device is lost or stolen.

Tokenization creates a unique, randomized set of numbers for each transaction, ensuring your actual card number is never used from your phone. For added security, enable Fingerprint/Touch ID/Facial Recognition features on your smartphone. You may need to contact your bank to confirm activation.

What Mobile Wallet Capabilities Are Available to North Central Bank Customers?

North Central Bank supports the following mobile wallet services:

  • Masterpass

Where Can You Use Mobile Wallet Payments?

Mobile wallet payments can be used at most locations that accept Mastercard, including the majority of U.S. retail locations. Refer to your local carrier for additional details.

Can I Add Multiple Cards to My Device?

Yes, you can add multiple cards. Apple devices allow adding up to 12 cards on newer models, while Android devices have no limit. You can select a default card or choose from multiple cards. Samsung Pay supports various types of cards, including credit, debit, and store credit cards. There is no limit on the number of gift cards you can add to Samsung Pay.

Can I put my card on multiple devices?

Yes, you can add your NCB Debit Card on up to 10 Apple devices. Please note that your Card must be added to each device separately. You can place your Card on up to 5 Android devices. There are no restrictions on adding the same payment card to multiple devices. For example, if you and your spouse share a debit card, you can add the card to both devices.

How Do You Pay with Your Mobile Wallet at the Merchant?

To pay with your mobile wallet at a point of sale terminal, open your card and hold your phone near the terminal. You may feel a vibration as the transaction goes through, and you'll see a “Done” or “Checkmark” indicating the payment was successful.

What Should I Do If My Device Is Lost or Stolen?

If your device or NCB Debit Card information is lost, stolen, or compromised, call North Central Bank immediately to suspend service. For iPhone or iPad users, you can use the Find My iPhone app to temporarily suspend or permanently remove payment capabilities from your device, even if it's offline. To reactivate your NCB Debit Card(s) after suspending, unlock your device and enter your Apple ID passcode when prompted.

You can also manage your cards through icloud.com/settings.

How to Suspend Payments or Remove Your Card from Your Device

To remove your NCB Debit Card on an iPhone (6 or later), iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3:

  1. Select "Remove Card" in the "Wallet & Apple Pay" section of your device's settings.
  2. Alternatively, visit icloud.com/settings or use Find My iPhone.

For Apple Watch, go to "Wallet," select your card, and tap "Delete." You can also use the Apple Watch app on your iPhone to remove the card.

For Android, open the Google Pay app, select your account, choose the card you want to remove, scroll down, and tap "Remove Card."

How Do I Get a Refund for a Purchase?

Merchants can process returns like any other return. Some may require you to show the physical card or an image of the card on your phone. When returning a purchase made with Apple Pay, you may need to provide the last four digits of your Device Account Number instead of your card number. To find these digits, check the "Wallet & Apple Pay" section in your device's settings.

What Should I Do If I'm Having a Problem with My Device's Software or Hardware?

If you're experiencing issues, please contact the support for Apple, Google, Samsung, Fitbit Pay, or Garmin.

Can I Set Push Notifications for Mobile Wallet Transactions?

Yes, you can enable and customize push notifications in your settings.

How do I update my card information, address, and contact information in Apple Pay?

You can change the address, email or phone number you use for paying within the apps at any time. Go to Settings> Wallet & Apple Pay to update your information. To update the billing address for a card, go to Settings> Wallet & Apple pay, tap a card, and then tap the billing address.

If I receive a replacement NCB Debit Card, do I need to update my Card information with Mobile Wallet?

No. Your device account number is connected to your new NCB Debit Card number automatically. You can use your Card in Mobile Wallet to make transactions before receiving your new plastic card.

Although mobile wallet is provided by North Central Bank free of charge, you may be charged access rates depending on your mobile carrier. Web access is needed to use mobile wallet. Check with your service provider for details on specific fees and charges.
